The LitterMaid Elite Mega Ultimate Edition is an advanced self-cleaning litter box that is ideal for extra-large cats or multiple cat households. Once the cat leaves the unit, sensors are triggered to turn on the ionizer and timer. After 10 minutes, the cleaning cycle starts and rake moves clumps toward the waste receptacle.
The rake opens the waste receptacle cover and deposits clumps before closing cover and returning to the home position. Sealed disposable waste receptacle with carbon filter allows for safe, easy disposal of waste.
This is our 4th self-cleaning litter box, and the best so far. I hope it lasts for awhile. I love the built in clock timer feature, so it doesn't run at night. It is in our master bathroom (in the bathtube we don't use as we have a seperate shower).
It does make alot of noise because it seems to have a heavy duty motor unit, so it does do a good job!! The receptical needs to be emptied daily with 2 cats, but I line it with one of those plastic grocery bags, so no dumping required. Just pull the bag off, tie it off, and replace with a new bag and replace.
If you have cats, you know there is no avoiding the spreading litter in the area, but keeping this in an unused bathtub does help with that. This is a large litter box and does need some space, but so far has been great for our two cat household.
