This is the best water device I have ever seen or used for my cat!! I bought a water bubbler thing before and I couldn't get my cat to go near it, in fact my dogs are using it and it's a pain to fill it because you have to take the tank off to fill it up.
This Drinkwell fountain is awesome! My cat loves the fountains that come off of it. He has started drinking tons more, and he loves to play in it. It is really easy to fill to! I recently replaced our original Drinkwell after five years of use. The filter had finally given up the ghost and many of the plastic edges of various parts had become brittle and cracked off, causing leakage. I debated whether or not to spend the extra money on the Platinum model or just buy the original again, seeing as how I already have a reservoir and several filters. I went with the Platinum, though, and it was worth the money.
Actually didn't pay attention to anything other than buying another Drinkwell Fountain. Extremely pleased with it, just wanted one more. When the Platinum Fountain came, I liked it, then set it up and was impressed with the improvements. Holds more water, easier to put together after cleaning, and much quieter. The cats took about 20 seconds to get over being scaredy cats, and love it. Glad I have it. Will probably by another one.

I'm extremely glad I finally took the plunge on the price of a better quality product. The Oster A5 did a good job for us once I developed confidence in using it. The one complaint I have is the fact that it does not come with a case or combs.
I will soon be running over to Home Depot to get a small toolbox to hold the clippers and other cat grooming accessories. I will also be purchasing a set of combs (or "guards") to maintain Missy's fur at a manageable length of 1" or so.

The cat goes outside every day. He gets ticks from spring until the the end of fall. Although this doesn't prevent him from actually having the ticks attach themselves, it does prevent him from getting sick from their bites! The cat is 6 years old, and has never had fleas!
